43 Things - The Purpose
Published by webwatcher April 3rd, 2007 in 43 things. You might say that, “43 things, yes we have heard about it before. But what exactly is the purpose of the website?†That’s a valid question. In fact a lot of research has gone into the making of the website. It is a long proven theory that writing down your goals helps you to achieve them faster. The website works on the same theory. It helps users to prioritize their existing goals, discover newer ones and even share the passion of working towards the goals.
Prioritizing The Goals
You might have a few goals listed, but they might not just be in the right order. A goal that needs more work from your part might be on the end of the list. This is where prioritization will help you. It will bring the most deserving goals to the top of the list. Of course there will be people to help you realize your goals and also cheer you while you work towards achieving this. This is a totally different feeling. While your goals might have been ridiculed in other places, 43 things is a place where it will be recognized no matter how weird it sounds.
Hey, It Works
There were people who were skeptical about the whole process. They felt that thinking that something like this can actually help you achieve your goals was being too optimistic. But then it started to work. 43 things accompanied many people like a faithful companion and stood by them while they achieved even the most difficult of their goals. Very soon, the people who scoffed at the website were saying that hey, it works.
Discovery
Have you ever asked a person what their goal in life is? No, we hardly ever do that. Even while socializing asking a person his or her goal in life is the last thing that we can think of. But ‘43 things’ lets you do that. It lets you discover new goals in life. Who knows, you might just find your ultimate goal in somebody else’s list of 43. The thrill of discovering your interest in somebody else’s list is amazing. In fact this thrill is what brings people back to the website asking for more.
Sharing
If you and another person have the same goal and you share your progress, it will help both of you to achieve it faster. Rather than looking at it as competition, you can look at it as working as a team. You will also nurture some great team spirit in yourself as you proceed. If you are the first one to achieve, you can always guide the other guy and vice a versa.
